What is radiofrequency ablation?
More advanced treatment than laser
It is a second-generation surgical procedure with less scarring and pain than incision surgery by inducing vein occlusion with heat similar to laser surgery. A radiofrequency catheter is inserted in the problematic blood vessel and constant heat of 120°C is transmitted at 360°, inducing heat damage and fibrosis of the blood vessel, to close the blood vessel with the reflux. It is known as a more advanced method, replacing laser surgery, with less postoperative pain and faster recovery than laser surgery. However, like laser surgery, if blood vessels are close to the skin or blood vessels are excessively curvy, it may need to be performed in conjunction with an incision.

Precautions after treatment

Compression stockings should be worn as much as possible for 2 weeks. However, if the stocking allergies are severe, please call us.

Short swimming or bathing is possible after 1-2 weeks, but it is recommended to do it for 2-3 weeks later for no more than 20-30 minutes.

Take the medicine prescribed and if you feel pain after finishing the prescription medicine, take some painkiller which can get any pharmacy.

You may feel discomfort if walking too much so please don't overdo it. However, light walking is recommended.

Drinking may cause inflammation of the surgical site, so avoid drinking for a month after surgery.

Placing your legs higher during sleeping can help you recover.

Surgical site may feel tight, which is a normal feeling, and it will gradually disappear (1-6 months).
