Laser (EVLA)
(Endovenous laser ablation)
A method of treatment through heat generation
by inserting a laser fiber in to the problematic vein
What is laser surgery?
The most commonly performed treatment
The technique of removing the problematic blood vessels using an endovenous laser leaves fewer
scars than the incision surgery that accompanies the scarring and pain.
It improved the recovery dramatically, which is a new concept in the history of varicose vein surgery.
The laser fiber is inserted into the problematic veins and a laser beam is irradiated to the inner wall of
the vein. The heat generated and the emitted laser beam causea fibrosis reaction to the inner wall of
the vessel to close it.
Laser surgery is a method of operation using laser equipment, unlike stripping in the past, which was performed only by the surgeon.
-
Operation time
30 minutes ~2 hou
-
anesthetic method
local anesthesia, sedation
-
recovery period
You can go home on the day of operation,
and return to light daily activities within 1–2 days. -
side effects
Pain and bruising,
which gradually subside
over 2–3 weeks.
Procedure
-
01
Vascular ultrasound is used to
identify areas requiring treatment. -
02
The laser fiber is inserted into the problematic vein while
monitoring real-time ultrasound images -
03
The laser energy from the laser
machine damages the inner wall of
the blood vessel, ultimately causing
vascular cell death or inflammation
reaction which disappearsas fibrosis.

At Charm Vascular Clinic?
Charm Vascular Clinic has been operating
using the 4th generation 1940nm equipment,
the most recent wavelength available since June 2017,
for the first time in the nation.
There is virtually no scarring since the operation is
done through a needle size hole.
In addition, since opening, we use only 100% disposable fiber
and radial fiber or ball tip fiber evolved from bare type fiber
for all patients. Laser surgery is not all the same, in fact,
the difference in equipment makes the difference in results!
Precautions after treatment
-
01
Some weep or blood may come out of the needle scar But it will be stop in a couple of days. Do not worry and take a light shower.
-
02
Compression stockings should be worn as much as possible for 1-2 weeks. However, if the stocking allergies are severe, please call us.
-
03
Take the medicine prescribed and if you feel pain after finishing the prescription medicine, take some painkiller which can get any pharmacy.
-
04
You may feel discomfort if walking too much so please don't overdo it. However, light walking is recommended.
-
05
Drinking may cause inflammation of the surgical site, so avoid drinking for a while
-
06
Placing your legs higher during sleeping can help you recover.
-
07
The surgical site may feel tight, which is a normal feeling, and it will gradually disappear.
